Our 2014 Show Sponsors

Our 2014 Annual Show

Our 2014 Annual Branch Show & Futurities was held on 25 - 26 October 2014 at Hawkesbury Showground Clarendon. The events for the weekend were under the keen eyes of our judges Martin & Judy Bourke, Lindy Walker & Lesley Nalbandian and we thank them for their time and expertise.

Saturdays events attracted lots of youth competitors with big numbers across all events from the dressage to the challenge, and a particulary strong juvenile age group, with the high point awards coming down to the final events. The sportsmanship, horsemanship & showmanship displayed by the youth competitors shows the strength of the next generation of competitors on their way to the top! Congratulations goes to Caitlyn Chamberlain riding Rivoli Oaks Romero, winners of the Isobel Best Memorial Supreme Ridden Youth Horse recieving the beautiful rug presented by Joe & Lou Best.

After a very successful day Mitchell Smith riding Corvan Park Empress took out the Adams Livestock Transport High Point Youth on an unregistered horse which was presented by Corrina & Jessica Adams, which was his 2nd year in a row winning this Award. Camelot Horse Rugs have again sponsored our High Point Junior & Juvenile Awards, with both winners recieving a beautiful embroidered rug. The Junior High Point was won by Brielle Powell riding Runaroo Tomcat, with the Juvenile High Point being won by Clayton Webb riding Andisa Rivoli Xray.

While the youth were strutting their stuff, it was time for our young horses to take centre stage. Once again we had fantastic numbers in all of the Stanton & Taylor Strata Management Futurities, with very tough competition for the embroidered kersey rugs and prizemoney. A big congratulations goes to Cole Moxey, winning both the Yearling and 2 Year Old Futurities with Brandwood Arizona and Kallenia Lily. Glenn Frazer of Playmore ASH Stud won the 3 Year Old Futurity with Playmore Roulette, before winning the Impressa Equine Design Supreme Led Junior Horse. Georgia Hope took out the Champion Ridden 3 years & Under with her gelding Celadon Exclusive.

Another bright and early Sunday morning kicked off with the Stanton & Taylor Strata Management 4 Year Old Maturity judged across the Led, Hack & Working section with some very close competition before it was eventually won by Cole Moxey riding Brandwood Faith taking home his third embroidered kersey rug for the weekend from Camelot Horse Rugs. Our hotly contested led classes saw the Jilliby ASH Stud Supreme Led Senior Horse won by Kallenia Jessia II, owned by the Emery Family & Jackie Long.

With the our biggest Open Challenge in many years with over 45 horses entered, the patterns were judged under the watchful eye of Martin Bourke, with everyone riding for the big cash prize of $500 from Stanton & Taylor Strata Management and rug sponsored by Impressa Equine Design. The Challenge was won by the stallion Riverdale Voodoo in the capable hands of Georgia Hope under the careful guidance of his owner Melise Tuma-Webb who excelled with the strappers duties for the weekend.

The Boyd Flint Memorial Trophy for the Supreme Ridden Horse of the Show, again provided some tough decisions with the mixed line up of hacks and working champions. Even with the RAAF Hercules training providing additional distractions overhead, it was the 3 year old gelding Celadon Exclusive ridden by Georgia Hope who took home the top honours under the watchful eye of judges Judy Bourke & Lindy Walker. The winner recieved the Perpetual Trophy & voucher presented by Reva Flint & family and an embroidered kersey wool rug donated by Camelot Horse Rugs.

Results of the Champions, Challenges & Futurities are listed on the 'Annual Show' page.

We would like to thank all sponsors and supporters of our 2014 show, so please visit the 'Our Sponsors' page for more details, with out them this weekend would not have been possibe.
